Welcome to our twenty-fourth blog post! We're excited to announce the Ski Lodge Pop Up Bar, an immersive winter experience that will take over the Barrel Room through the winter months at the winery.
As the winter months near and we start dreaming about our spiced Mulled Wine and hot Caramel Apple cider, we have something extra special to introduce to guests of the winery this year. We’re transforming the Barrel Room into a winter escape with our Ski Lodge Pop Up Bar! Starting in November, the Ski Lodge Pop Up Bar will be taking over the Barrel Room, complete with ski-lodge inspired décor, providing the perfect escape from the cold.
The Ski Lodge Experience
It’s the Barrel Room like you’ve never experienced it before. When you step inside, the Ski Lodge Pop Up Bar will transform the Barrel Room into a winter wonderland experience, featuring alpine trees, snow-covered pine limbs, a festive ski resort gondola, twinkling string lights, and more. The cozy atmosphere of the Barrel Room is heightened with wintry accent lighting, eclectic ski lodge accessories, and intimate table and couch settings.
When you visit the Barrel Room throughout the winter months, you’ll be transported into an idyllic winter escape. We’re bringing the exclusive ski resort experience to Manhattan, Kansas!
Winter Events in the Barrel Room
We’re kicking off our winter event lineup in the Barrel Room on November 5th with Passport to the Alps: Pairings & Ski Lodge Experience. This event will be the first night the public can step inside and experience the Ski Lodge Pop Up Bar. Go on a delicious journey through the Alpine regions of Switzerland, Italy, Austria, and France, with each stop featuring a thoughtfully selected wine paired with a bite inspired by the local cuisine. From Swiss Alpine cheeses and Italian specialties to Austrian favorites and French mountain fare, each pairing is designed to bring a little taste of the Alps to Kansas. Our Passport to the Alps event is just the start to an entire season of events that will take place in the Ski Lodge Pop Up Bar. From Bingo Nights to Movie Nights, each Barrel Room event we host during the winter season will be an event in the Ski Lodge Pop Up Bar. And an event in the Ski Lodge Pop Up Bar wouldn’t be complete without an on-theme, specially crafted cocktail list. In addition to bringing an alpine winter flair to our public events in the Barrel Room, we've also designed the Ski Lodge Pop Up Bar to be the perfect setting for private parties. Bookings for private parties in the Barrel Room start November 12th and continue throughout the winter months. Whether you’re planning a corporate holiday party, getting the family together, or celebrating a loved one’s winter birthday, the Ski Lodge Pop Up Bar provides a space for your guests to gather with the added ambiance of a cozy European mountain lodge, right here in the Flint Hills. Open Lodge Reservations
To give guests another opportunity to experience the Ski Lodge Pop Up Bar, outside of public Barrel Room events or private rentals of the space, we will also have Open Lodge Reservations, where guests can reserve a table in the Barrel Room for the evening! Grab your significant other or a group of friends and join us for a leisurely winter evening in the Ski Lodge Pop Up Bar. Our full Tasting Room restaurant menu will be available to guests throughout your reservation time. These reservations are perfect for a night of slowing down and unwinding in a cozy atmosphere.
