About The Event
In 2016, we took a truck full of sweet melons, crafted them into a sweet wine, and what started as an experiment of sorts has turned into a sensation....
This year's Watermelon Crawl celebrates the third version of this popular wine--our Egyptian Watermelon! With fruit sourced from Duffer's Farm in NE Kansas, this wine gets its name from the origins of the fruit itself (Egypt), and it is the only version of our watermelon wine available for purchase all over the state.
Turns out those ancient Pharaohs knew their stuff---so don't just "walk like an Egyptian," CRAWL like one with us as we celebrate this 'One in a Melon' kind o' wine!
Duffer, the grower, will share his story; why his chose to grow fields upon fields of watermelons along with the planting, growing and harvesting process. He will have a truck full of his fresh off the vine, homegrown watermelons for sale too!
David, Liquid Art's Vintner, will share why he chose to make watermelon wine and the details about its winemaking.
Complimentary sample of our Watermelon Wine (for guests 21+ of age).
